The Temec Engineering Group Ltd. was retained to determine the cost and scope for a cogeneration project planned for an existing pulp and paper facility, and was subsequently retained for the detail engineering phase.

The scope of the project included a new concentrator, low odor conversion of an existing recovery boiler, conversion of a second recovery boiler to wood waste firing, a double extraction condensing steam turbine generator, cooling tower and plant auxiliaries.

Temec was responsible for all preliminary engineering, definition of current and future process requirements, capital cost estimating, scheduling and project planning. Temec was also awarded most of the detail design work, including civil, structural, process, mechanical and piping design, and electrical and instrumentation coordination.
