Summary

Temec has provided civil and structural engineering and design services for a number of industrial projects, including design of underground services, steelwork and concrete building superstructures, and building and equipment foundations. Temec was also retained to supply construction management assistance for the majority of these projects.

Green Power Generation Project

For this project Temec utilized three dimensional modeling and structural non-linear finite element analysis techniques to determine a cost effective strengthening design for an existing recovery boiler building. Temec also designed concrete foundations and steel support structures for a new vibrating conveying grate (VCG) and a new turbine hall including concrete turbine and generator foundations, pipe bridges and cooling tower.

Power Boiler Precipitator Project

Temec was retained to provide preliminary engineering and class 10 capital cost estimate development services for new wood waste power boiler precipitator.

Steam Turbine Project

This project included civil and structural detail design services for the Cooling Tower sump, pumphouse, underground services, pipe bridge, support towers, bents and foundations.

Sulphamic Acid System Upgrade

An existing sulphamic acid bag storage area and solution preparation system was significantly upgraded in response to a safety audit conducted by the client and its insurer. The project scope included a new safety shower, addition and improvement of emergency egress routes, new high capacity vapour evacuation systems and an automated system to raise a section of handrail remotely to eliminate the possibility of a fall.
